Rathwood Mississauga Real Estate

Why the Community of Rathwood, Mississauga
is My Favorite Neighborhood

The neighborhood of Rathwood is located on the east side of Mississauga and nestled between the Etobicoke Creek on the east and Robert Speck Parkway on the west, Burnhamthorpe Road East on the south side and the Eastgate Corridor to the north.

It is a neighbourhood that is tucked away from Mississauga’s metropolitan life hustle.  Rathwood has become one of the most desirable communities to live in Mississauga and the GTA to raise a family, downsize or for retirement living.  It is a mature, well-kept, family oriented residential community with a balanced mix of low to high density housing.  For those requiring executive living, there are townhouses and condos available.

In Rathwood the majority of homes are mature and built in the 70’s and 80’s, especially in areas such as Rockwood Village and Fleetwood Village where you can still find bungalows and detached houses with large, pool-sized lots. Newer detached, semis and townhouses are also available, as well as executive and luxury homes, townhomes and condominiums with 1 or 2+ bedrooms, two or three stories and backsplits around Rathburn road, Dixie road, Burnhamthorpe, Hickory, Robert Speck drive and Shipp dr.

Most homes are just steps away from the transit system that connects you to the GO, the Brampton and the Toronto transit systems.  Whether by car, bicycle or public transit, you are minutes away to all major highways, arteries and major destinations:  shopping malls, schools, libraries, airport, movies, parks, waterfront, Toronto subway or downtown.

The Focal Points of Rathwood are centered around its main intersections where you can find shopping centres, libraries, community centres, religious places, high density residential housing, commercial and office uses mainly around Burnhamthorpe and Dixie, Rathburn and Dixie (Rockwood Mall), Rathburn and Ponytrail drive (Longo’s), Tomken and Rathburn, Cawthra and Burnhamthorpe, Burnhamthorpe and Central Parkway (Central Parkway Mall).

For the nature lovers and explorers, there are a number of greenbelts, trails, creeks, pathways, parks, recreation facilities that are connected with bicycle bridges and pedestrian walkways, including access to Centennial Park through the East Bank of the Etobicoke Creek.

I believe if you choose Rathwood, Mississauga as your next neighborhood to purchase a home, condo or town house in you will be very happy with your choice.
