Garden District Toronto Real Estate

The Garden District is one of the neighbourhoods in downtown Toronto. It was chosen because of an indoor botanical garden nearby the Jarvis and Carleton Street intersection. That garden is called Allan Gardens, and is a very popular place in the city. In 2001, the Mayor of Toronto and the City Council made the designation official, and the community association serving that area was renamed the Garden District Residents Association. Part of the community is located within Moss Park, which is one of the officially designated Toronto neighbourhoods. The Merchandise Building and the Mackenzie House Museum are also located in the Garden District.

There are two distinct areas in the District. The western side is largely commercial and retail, while the eastern side is mostly residential. Schools, churches, and entertainment are easy to find on the west side of the District, with residences and parks being the predominant options for the east side. There's everything from hostels to million-dollar homes in the Garden District, and it's a great mix of people and housing choices. If you're looking for a low-cost home that's easily affordable, you can find something there. Of course, you can also find a lovely estate that's above the $1 million price range.

Once you've found your great new place in the Garden District, you'll want to decorate and furnish it to really make it feel like yours. You can do that easily without needing to travel very far. There's so much to do in and around the District that you can easily get to what you need and want, so you can locate things that make you feel at home. You're also close to parks and green spaces, as well as great cafes and restaurants, so you can get a bite to eat and spend some time just relaxing in nature.
