Centrepointe Ottawa Real Estate

Centrepointe area is a pleasant neighbourhood at the heart of suburban Nepean in Ottawa.  Centrepointe’s population is approximately 7500 people. Centrepointe has been predominantly developed by North American Developer the Minto corporation.  It has a range of newer and older condominiums as well as single houses and townhomes.

At the heart of Centrepointe is Ben Franklin place, an old city hall transformed into a fine arts theatre. Ben Franklin place also houses a public library, a city of Ottawa branch, a medical centre, Gabriel drugs, RBC, Royal Oak restaurant and a dental office.  Across from Ben Franklin Place is Centrepointe Park. In the summer children can play at the newly built splash park. The park also hosts New Year Fireworks, a Shakespeare performance and numerous soccer tournaments among its 5 full-size soccer fields. There are also several baseball diamonds along the park’s premises. If cycling is your thing there is a path dedicated to cyclists which runs along the entire park. In the winter time there is a skating ring maintained by city of Ottawa with warm changing rooms.

A five minutes walk from the heart of Centrepointe will get you to Baseline station, a central bus station on OC Transpo’s transitway as well as Algonquin College, numerous outlet stores and a grocery store with a kosher department. Nearby schools include: Briargreen (English Imersion), Manordale, Knoxdale, Greenbank Middle School and Sir Robert High School. Centrepointe is conveniently located 15 minutes away from downtown Ottawa and 10 minutes away from Kanata.
